I ask that all clients email or call within 24-48 hours of having your baby. Most babies are booked anywhere from 8-10 or even 12 or 14 days depending on the babys weight. Letting me know when you have your baby early enough allows rooms for re scheduling and adjusting.
Newborn babies grow and change so fast! I want to capture them exactly how they are when they are brand new. However, if you have already had your baby please contact me to see if I have any availability.
Yes, I have props, more than my studio can handle, I have a large selection of vintage props, bowls, crates etc handmade headbands and tiebacks with delicate bonnets and outfits.
I will be in contact with you a week before your newborn portrait session to go over final details and give you instructions on how to prepare. I have lots of tips and tricks to help us get a sleepy baby for the session.
For sure the flashlight never can harm them while they are sleeping. However, even with open eyes, these professional lighting techniques wouldn’t cause any problem when they are wide awake showing us their most adorable facial expressions.
In My unique picture photography, we also have a natural light studio. It means if your baby doesn’t like to go back to sleep, we can definitely use the beauty of natural light. Read studio flashlight photography blog for more information.
Newborn session is the best when your baby is 5-10 days old. Your little one is still sleepy and flexible and their skin is soft. Most of the photos in my newborn portfolio contains images of babies 5-14 days old.
If you miss the newborn stage, it will be still possible to photograph your baby, however, the images might not look similar to the pictures on my portfolio. After 14 days old, newborns are not as sleepy and they do not curl up easily. For older babies I plan for more swaddle set ups and I take more awake shots.
It depends on your baby’s sleepiness and your select package. Usually it can take up to 2 or 3 hours. I allow enough time for feeding and changing. As an artist, I do not like to be rushed and I want you to get the best result possible.
Before the actual session, I usually ask my clients about their favorite colors that they want me to use at the session. Please feel free to send me inspiration images from my portfolio, so I can get a better sense of your style. Prior to your arrival, all the set ups will be ready in the studio. Please note, that everything before the session will be steam sanitized and I require to wear shoe covers in the studio which I provide.
The room is heated for baby’s comfort, so please dress accordingly. Please feel yourself at home, you can relax and enjoy your rest while I pose and photograph your little model. I provide water and snacks in the studio. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks.
During the session, baby’s comfort and safety is my number one priority. I have studied newborn safety and I will only do poses that I am confident doing. If baby has a sibling, I will start by posing the baby with the sibling and then move on to parents’ shots. Once we finish family poses, it’s a good idea for one of the parents to take sibling for my game area or for a walk, so we could concentrate on the newborn session.
Newborn sessions require a very quiet and calm atmosphere. I will be using white noise / baby shushes at the session. We have to keep the baby as relaxed and sleepy as possible.
Yes basic skin retouching is included. For extra retouching (color Changes, head swaps, tattoo removable) extra charges may apply
I love light and airy images, so neutrals always look great! Please avoid patterns and logos on clothing. Please also wear layers as it can get warm and sticky in the studio to keep it toasty for baby.
I photograph babies of any age. Your baby is no longer a newborn however you can still book a session. Please understand the baby most likely will not be able to do newborn poses or wraps and they are usually awake
Maternity sessions should be schedule at 29-35 weeks, when you are still feeling good, not too swollen, but have a nice round belly!
You will receive your digital color corrected gallery in about 14 Business Day after Photoshoot . Then, you can choose your favorites for artistic editing. Once, you select your favorites, please allow about 14 Business days to receive your edited digital gallery for download.
No we do not give Raw images.

During the ordering session I provide “soft proofing” which means your images are not retouched ahead of time. You choose your images and the level of retouching
I offer different packages for the cake smash sessions, from custom where you choose the theme and I do everything to the simple mini session. Please Contact Me and I will send all information.
You can but I can not guarantee your pet will behave, so this is at your discretion.
Yes you can. I can only guarantee holding images for 90 days, however I store my images on backups and usually can go back quite some time on image files with extra storage fee charge .

I had Shabnam take both maternity and newborn photos!Shabnam is very friendly, was accommodating when I arrived a few minutes late, and accommodated the poses I requested. Shabnam also provided input regarding the poses and made sure to capture genuine moments in my newborn session.I was nervous before the maternity shoot but shabnam made me feel so comfortable and I ended up having such a great time!Shabnam was very careful with my newborn, supplied a sound machine to help my baby sleep, gave us time to feed & do diaper changes in between photos.Shabnam was also courteous and wore a mask during the photo session which I appreciated considering she was working with our brand new baby.Shabnam made sure to capture a variety of settings for the newborn session and was very careful when handling our baby.Her photography skills are superb, hence why I returned to her for my newborn photos.

I would rate her 0 if there was any option for it .worst customer service ,rude n ruined the dream we had for our first baby photoshoot .She did not let us see d pictures at the session time when i asked for it she said its not allowed and later when received pictures turned out to be nightmare with error that could not be fixed . Baby Swaddle she did was all messed up but rather than fixing it she just said the pictures were ok and kept clicking it and later when received pictures after 2 weeks all i could do was get upset as that period of my baby would never return .She was in so much rush,did not help to settle baby for pictures , instead gone to edit pictures of other photosession in between our session. when i expressed my disappointment after seeing pictures after weeks kept saying photo was not as expected just coz my baby was fussy .Newborn photoshoot is an art as baby is expected to be fussy and takes lot of patience ,dedication n time which she clearly did not have at all.I was offered for 2 pictures free for rating her good but i did not want that rather i want everybody to know my experience. It’s been months but whenever i look at the pictures ,i get so upset for not getting what i was supposed to get after paying and believing she was good seeing all those positive reviews. She replied to me saying she let me see d pictures but just look at the pictures i received do u think i will be ok with this swaddle which is not even correctly wrapped of i have seen it N ,yes she said i took the pictures ofcourse i will take the pictures coz this is precious memory for me which i will never get back so even though pictures r not what i expected i kept it all just fot my baby memory .she said i received 2 free pictures totally wrong i have not rated or reviewed her so why would she give 2 pictures for free .I took the extra pictures and all pictures paying coz i did not wanted to rate wrong thing😕Yes i reviewed this late coz i was going through postpatrum phase with my own difficulties so did not work on this review matter at that time .N for clarity i have posted pictures of swaddle how it was done which could have been corrected if she have shown pictures to us at dat time or has given attention while clicking pictures instead of rushing and being rude😳

Shabnam did a great job with the new born photography. She provided him with all props and clothes needed for the photo shoot. She did a good job with the editing. I just would have appreciated that she would have suggested a better background for family photos, since with a dark background our hair is not visible.

I am glad I found Shabnam for my maternity photography. She was very friendly and easy to work with. She made the photoshoot effortless and easy even in the hot Texas summer. She was very accommodating when I told her I have moved from a cold weather place and this weather is too much for first time especially with full term pregnancy and moved my time slot to morning by managing it with her other client for that time.
